Abbreviations – ch – Chain
DC – Double Crochet
TC – Treble Crochet Ss – Slip Stitch
Materials – Double knitting wool, approximately 60 gms. size 4mm or 4.5 mm crochet hook
Make 83 chains
ROW 1 ROW 2 ROW 3
ROW 4 ROW 5 ROW 6 ROW 7– 11 ROW 12 ROW 13
Make a DC into 2nd chain from the hook and into the top of every following chain. (81stitches) Make 2 ch and turn.
Miss 2 ch, 2 TC into the top of the next DC, (miss 2 DC, 1 DC and 2 TC into next stitch) Repeat to last stitch make 1 DC, then make 2 ch and turn
2 TC into first DC of previous row, then 1 DC & 2 TC into every DC of previous row. Make 2ch, turn.
Repeat row 3
Repeat row 3, ending with 3 ch, turn.
1 TC into every stitch of previous row, 3ch, turn. Repeat row 6
Repeat row 2
Repeat row 3
Begin now to decrease

1 TC into first DC, Crochet 2 Trebles together then 1 TC into each of the next 4 stitches. Continue in this way to end of row, make 3 ch, turn.
1 TC into first TC, 2 TC together then
1 TC into next 3 stitches. Continue in this way to end of row, make 3 ch, turn.
1 TC into first TC, 2 TC together then
1 TC into next 2 stitches. Continue in this way to end of row, make 3 ch, turn.

Break off wool and gather stitches from last row together. Sew sides together. Make a pom-pom or tassel if desired.
